I have a home with cages enough for some. I would like to adopt the Eclectus male and Umbrella. We have an african grey who could do with the company. We adopted him too (we named him Charlie). If you would like to re-home these beautiful animals, my husband (Dave and Edna) would gladly assist.

Hi Dave and Edna. Thanks for getting in touch.
We stopped adoptions in February 2020 as we are no longer taking in any surrendered birds. Our focus now is on rehabilitating the birds that are in our care and making sure their home is secure.

    Hello Brainy Birds,
We owned a breeding facility in KZN and retired 2 years ago.
I would really like to take over and pay for a goffin. My little darling sadly
passed away a while ago and would love to have another. I handreared him
from egg and I am brokenhearted. Your consideration would be appreiated.
We are hoping to be in Johannesburg in July should there be a lifting of
restrictions and would love to visit your facility.

Hi Linda, Please feel free to contact the sanctuary closer to the time to speak to Dee. We are currently not open for adoption. We have a very stringent adoption policy when we do adopt. Unfortunately many people think it’s a simple case of picking a bird. Dee insists that prospective bird parents spend time with the birds to bond with them. With you being not in Joburg I don’t know if that would be possible, hence, please call closer to the time and hopefully when thing calm down and some normalcy is restored. Thank you.

I heard the interview on MIXFM today,I am in Cape Town. Your video brought me to tears. I love animals but birds are close to my hart. I would help with some $ as I can not take care of a bird because of me dogs. Love what you are doing. Love Carl

    Hi there,

It made me teary that some of these birds have been neglected and mistreated, but I’m so happy they are in safe hands. I have a little African gray (whose name is Diego) who I’ve been nursing for a few years and has recently lost his sister who we have had for 7 – 8 years.

now I’m heading to college and I’m not able to take care of Diego anymore and I still want him to be my child so rehabilitating/ rehoming is not my option and they do take long as we both know. I’ve heard many brilliant things from your organization and I’m willing to do anything to my Diego happy again.

hopefully, we can talk soon to discuss some things I’ve been wanting to talk to you about.
